Hi, welcome to my website. I am a professional photographer based in Portugal with a passion for landscape and nature photography. Most of my work is concentrated in my home patch of Ria de Aveiro. However, I also travel and photograph extensively in others regions such as the Algarve and Lisbon, and travel abroad frequently.

I follow the philosophy of “get it right in camera”. I use filters when necessary to achieve the ideal balance of light and motion, then the final touches are applied in post-processing.

For many years I have worked as a freelance photography tutor for Discover Photography, and now run my own regular multi-day and one day workshops here in Portugal and abroad.

Landscape photography is not my favorite genre but I decided to do a workshop to force myself out of my comfort zone. Attracted by Paulo Silva's photographs, I signed up for the “Porto e Aveiro” workshop. I could hardly have made a better choice. The locations were perfect, alternating between the unavoidable and the lesser-known corners. Paulo, in addition to being a great photographer and an impeccable professional, was always available to help and stimulate us, and did not rest until all the elements of the group had taken “A” photograph in each spot. Landscape photography is still not the one that touches me the most, but when I do another workshop - and I will - it will be with Paulo again.

In the past 2 years I have been lucky to be able to do 2 photo workshops with Paulo, in Algarve and in Aveiro. Both tours were excellent. Paulo knows the area like the back of his hand, and also the suitable moments to be there to get the best possible images.
