Lisbon: A Golden Start

Our adventure begins in Lisbon, where we’ll witness the iconic Vasco da Gama Bridge illuminated by the morning sun. This striking modern marvel will be the perfect subject for your camera.

Porto: A City of Contrasts

From Lisbon, we’ll journey to the heart of Porto. Explore the charming Ribeira District, with its colorful houses, cobblestone streets, and stunning views of the Douro River. Capture the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge from various angles, especially at dusk when the city lights reflect on the river.

Aveiro: The Venice of Portugal

Our next stop is the picturesque city of Aveiro. Known for its canals, colorful moliceiro boats, and Art Nouveau architecture, Aveiro offers endless photo opportunities. Capture the tranquility of the lagoon and the vibrant energy of the city’s historic center.

Douro Valley: A Wine Lover’s Paradise

The Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a photographer’s dream. Explore the terraced vineyards, dramatic landscapes, and charming villages. Capture the golden hour’s magic as the sun illuminates the vineyards, creating stunning vistas.

During our workshop, I will provide photographic guidance, demonstrate the use of filters, talk about composition, shutter speeds, apertures, histograms and more.

Relatively easy but good footwear needed. Most locations and viewpoints are close to where we will be parked. There may be some walking on uneven terrain which could be wet and muddy, and some locations are hilly. Good sturdy, water resistant boots are advised.

Best place to fly to is Lisbon Airport. If coming from the UK or within Europe, you can find flights at Easyjet or Wizz Air or Ryanair.

The weather can be quite cold this time of year, and the mornings and evenings colder, so warm clothes. Ideally layers that you can remove or put on as we’ll be shooting before sunrise and after sunset, in the dark, when it will be colder. Bring wet weather gear and a raincover for your camera equipment.
