THE JOURNEY EXPERIENCE
The Bavarian Highlands & Berchtesgaden
Our immersion begins in the breath-taking Bavarian Alps. During the first days of my program, I will guide youthrough the pristine natural beauty of this region, focusing on the iconic frozen shores of Hintersee, the historic charm of Maria Gern chapel set against monolith mountain backdrops, and the raw, untamed wilderness of the Berchtesgaden National Park. The winter snow cleanses the landscape, providing us with an uncompromised canvas for contemplative photography.
The Scenic Austrian Passage
On the third day, our expedition transitions toward the high Alps. We will cross into Austria, embarking on what I consider one of the most scenic and awe-inspiring alpine drives in the world. As we travel through towering snow-covered passes and spectacular glacial valleys, the journey itself becomes an artistic inspiration, offering endless opportunities to observe the transitioning winter light.
The Grand Italian Dolomites
Upon arrival in Italy, we settle into our refined and exquisite accommodation. Perfectly situated at the geographical center of all our target locations, this premium retreat sits just a few minutes' drive from every lake on our itinerary. This strategic choice ensures we never miss a single fleeting moment of perfect light and allows us to reach the spots effortlessly. From this base of absolute comfort, I will take you out to compose long exposures across the region’s most spectacular waterscapes: Lago di Braies, Lake Misurina, Lago di Antorno, and Lago di Dobbiaco. We will culminate our journey exploring the vast, snow-covered meadows of Alpe di Siusi, utilizing the unique winter shadows and absolute silence to produce museum-grade portfolios away from the masses.

Moderate with some uphill hikes and longer walks so good footwear needed. Otherwise most locations and viewpoints are close to where we will be parked. There may be some walking on uneven terrain which could be wet and muddy, and some locations are hilly. Good sturdy, water resistant boots are advised.
Pickup point and best place to fly to is Munich International Airport.
I will pick everyone up from Munich International Airport. More information on travelling to and from the airport here.
It will be winter and we’ll be in the mountains, so be sure to pack extra warm clothing: scarves, gloves, winter coats and boots etc. We will be outdoors in freezing conditions, especially early mornings and evenings.
Bring wet weather gear and a raincover for your camera equipment in case of rain.
