I started my career as a photographer very young, in the days of film, and always connected to the graphic arts as a product photographer. The passion for colour and image has always fascinated me, but my passion for landscape photography came in the digital age. I quickly realized the potential of a DSLR to develop creativity and explore a new world.
I attended the Portuguese Institute of Photography in Porto, Portugal, to develop my skills and learn from the Masters of Light. In the meantime, I embarked on a 10-year photographic project exploring the Ria de Aveiro, Porto, Lisbon and the Algarve in Portugal.
Since turning professional in 2017, I have been very fortunate to mix landscape photography with another of my passions: travel.
I am an experienced photography educator, having worked as a freelance tutor for Discover Photography over the years. I now run my own workshops in Portugal and around the world.
My work lives at the intersection of emotion and precision. I’m captivated by the raw elegance of the Portuguese coastline, the volcanic soul of Madeira and the Azores, and the alpine grandeur of Bavaria, Austria, Italy, and Slovenia. These landscapes offer more than visual beauty. They speak in textures, silence, and shifting light.
To translate those voices into photographs, I rely on a carefully refined technique. Filters are central to my process, not just as tools, but as creative allies. Neutral density and graduated filters help me balance dynamic light, extend exposure times, and reveal layers of mood that the naked eye might overlook. They allow me to slow down time, soften motion, and craft images that feel immersive and honest.
Photography, for me, is a form of reverence. I don’t just document the landscape,I listen to it. Each image is the result of planning, patience, and an intuitive response to light and atmosphere. My goal is to evoke stillness, wonder, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
