We will explore the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site where terraced vineyards and river landscapes create timeless beauty. Here, we’ll also enjoy regional wine tastings, immersing ourselves in the flavours and traditions of one of Europe’s oldest wine regions.
In Porto, Portugal’s most iconic city, vibrant streets and historic riverside architecture await. In We will photograph the majestic Dom Luís I Bridge, an engineering masterpiece that spans the Douro River and connects the city’s vibrant banks. Along the historic Ribeira district, the colourful houses and narrow streets create a timeless backdrop full of atmosphere and character. On the river itself, the traditional rabelo boats, once used to transport Port wine from the Douro Valley to the city, add a unique cultural touch, linking Porto’s past with its enduring charm.
Aveiro, the “Portuguese Venice,” offers charming canals, colourful boats, and a taste of its famous gastronomy. Beyond the romantic charm of Aveiro’s canals and colourful boats, we will explore and photograph the Ria de Aveiro Lagoon, a place of incomparable beauty and atmosphere.
This unique landscape, shaped by water and light, offers endless photographic opportunities: from shimmering reflections and delicate textures to the interplay of nature and tradition. Together, the city and lagoon create a narrative of romance and serenity, making Aveiro one of Portugal’s most inspiring destinations for photographers.
In Lisbon, we discover the elegant and photograph the monumental Vasco da Gama Bridge, one of Europe’s longest, stretching across the Tagus River. We will photograph grand monuments and the iconic Pombaline architecture that defines the heart of the city. The typical streets, alive with atmosphere, invite us to capture their rhythm and charm. And no visit is complete without the famous yellow Tram 28, winding its way through the narrow avenues, a timeless symbol of Lisbon’s soul.
Finally, the Algarve reveals dramatic cliffs, golden beaches, luxury resorts, and traditional fishing villages, a perfect blend of natural wonder and cultural heritage.

Relatively easy but good footwear needed. Most locations and viewpoints are close to where we will be parked. There may be some walking on uneven terrain which could be wet and muddy, and some locations are hilly. Good sturdy, water resistant boots are advised.
Best place to fly to is Lisbon Airport. If coming from the UK or within Europe, you can find flights at Easyjet or Wizz Air or Ryanair.
I will pick everyone up at Lisbon International Airport. You can get information and public transport options from Lisbon Airport here:
The weather can be quite cold this time of year, and the mornings and evenings colder, so warm clothes. Ideally layers that you can remove or put on as we’ll be shooting before sunrise and after sunset, in the dark, when it will be colder. Bring wet weather gear and a raincover for your camera equipment.
