Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome to Madeira
Guests are welcomed at Madeira Airport before transferring to our boutique hotel. After check-in and a relaxed welcome briefing, we'll enjoy our first sunset session overlooking Madeira's dramatic north coast, offering the perfect introduction to the island's unique volcanic landscapes.
Day 2 – Ancient Laurel Forest & Northern Coast
Before sunrise we venture into the mystical Fanal Forest, where ancient laurel trees and drifting mist create one of Europe's most atmospheric woodland landscapes.
After breakfast we'll explore hidden viewpoints and dramatic cliffs along Madeira's spectacular north coast before photographing sunset at one of our favourite coastal locations.
Day 3 – Waterfalls, Cliffs & Volcanic Coastline
Today's focus is Madeira's rugged coastline.
We'll photograph waterfalls cascading into the Atlantic, black volcanic beaches, sea stacks and dramatic cliffs sculpted by centuries of ocean waves.
The exact locations will always depend on tides, weather and light conditions.
Day 4 – Central Mountains
An early departure takes us high into Madeira's mountain range.
We'll photograph Pico do Areeiro, dramatic mountain ridges, cloud inversions and panoramic viewpoints before exploring quieter mountain locations away from the crowds.
If conditions allow, we'll finish the day photographing sunset above the famous sea of clouds.
Day 5 – Eastern Peninsula & Creative Photography
Sunrise takes place at the breathtaking Ponta de São Lourenço, where colourful volcanic formations meet the Atlantic Ocean.
During the afternoon we'll enjoy a relaxed image review and post-processing session before heading back into the field for another carefully selected sunset location.
Day 6 – Hidden Madeira
Today is dedicated to discovering some of Madeira's lesser-known gems.
We'll photograph secluded valleys, peaceful levadas, intimate forest scenes and hidden viewpoints rarely visited by tourists.
This is also our most flexible day, allowing us to revisit any location if exceptional conditions develop.
Day 7 – The Best of Madeira
Our final full day is entirely weather-driven.
We'll return to whichever location promises the most spectacular conditions, whether that means mist in Fanal, dramatic light in the mountains or a colourful sunset along the coast.
Our goal is simple: to finish the workshop with the strongest portfolio possible.
Day 8 – Final Sunrise & Departure
We'll enjoy one last sunrise at a carefully selected location before returning to the hotel for breakfast and transferring everyone to Madeira Airport.
Rather than following a rigid itinerary, every day is carefully adapted to Madeira's constantly changing weather and light conditions. This allows us to maximise photographic opportunities and ensures every participant has the best chance of creating truly memorable images.

The weather can be quite cold this time of year, and the mornings and evenings colder, so bring warm clothes. Ideally layers that you can remove or put on as we’ll be shooting before sunrise and after sunset, in the dark, when it will be colder. Bring wet weather gear and a raincover for your camera equipment.
